Vaccine available at a reduced cost at Health and Wellness.You may be at risk for contracting MENINGITIS if you:
- Live in a dorm or Greek house
- Frequent crowded bars
- Smoke-first and second hand
- Share oral fluids (ie. Kiss)
- Spend extensive time on or near campus
- Share eating utensils, drinking glasses, etc.
You can reduce your chance of contracting MENINGITIS if you:
- Have a balanced diet
- Get adequate sleep
- Exercise
- Avoid excessive stress
- Avoid inhalation of cigarette smoke
- Wash hands after contact with oral secretions
- Get the vaccine
Symptoms of meningitis include:
- Headache
- Fever
- Nausea & Vomiting
- Neck & back stiffness
- High sensitivity to light
- Confusion
- Fatigue
- Purple rash
